How to use the submittal cover sheet template
1. Number it from your submittal log
Use the same submittal number and revision you record in the log so the cover sheet and the register always match.
2. List exactly what is enclosed
Name each item — cutsheets, shop drawing sheets, samples, test reports — with the spec section it answers. Reviewers send back packages that make them guess what is inside.
3. Declare deviations
If anything differs from the specified product or detail, say so on the cover. Deviations buried inside a cutsheet are a common source of disputes after installation.
4. Review, sign, and send
The contractor review signature confirms you checked the package against the contract documents before sending it. Keep the returned sheet with the reviewer's action marked for your records.
